Organisation:
Restraint Reduction Lead:
Date:
Priority 1:
Improve quality of reporting and recording within our service to better measure incidents and near misses, and to use this data to provide live support to staff during incidents to help identify triggers and de-escalate quickly.
Measure of Success:
Training in these tools will be evidenced in the training matrix. Evidence on the effectiveness of these tools will come from the data gathering on ABAIT, and PCS and will include reports and excel sheets. Evidence includes; • Pre/ Post Surveys for user feedback • Live documentation and analysis of incidents provided by ABAIT behavioural summaries being cross referenced with PCS incident reports. • Metrics data gathered pre and post. • Staff stress questionnaires delivered pre and post. • Individual interviews with our young people on what change they found in staff care delivery and their feedback on the “my voice” part of ABAIT.
Priority 2:
Full implementation of PBS and Active Support Models on an organizational level, and integrate these into the TRM model of working with trauma.
Measure of Success:
Implementation of Active Support and Positive Behavioural Support alongside the Trauma recovery Model requires accredited training. All training focus on a pro-active approach, quality of life gains, and skill teaching when working with the young person. This will be evidenced by: • Training Reports and Audits • Every course having pass/fail criteria with evidence. • Accredited trainers and accredited certificates for training. • Champions in each home trained up to lvl 3. • Goal Plan and Opportunity Plan reports provide by PCS software.
Priority 3:
To increase the “volume” and reach of the child’s voice in person-centred care, and role model best practice in these areas.
Measure of Success:
Evidence directly sourced from the young person will be anonymised in line with GDPR, either in a anonymous typed dialogue or in survey feedback data. • ABAIT reports on the “my voice” login. • Produce a more specific pamphlet in easy-read format for children giving information on restraint and their rights within this area in addition to the welcome pack already provided. • Young Person’s signature on interview sheets when hiring their staff, and survey feedback on how they find the process. • An anonymised profile of each child’s preferences in the type of staff they wish to be supported by. E.g. compatibility, energy, and interests. This to be used in the hiring process. • Photos taken where consent has been given by the child and social services. • Witness statements from staff and training feedback survey reports.
