Priority 1:
our aim is to use data collection and analysis to enable accurate and clear data on incidents of challenging and hazardous behaviors and use this information to reduce behavioral incidents and improve the quality of the lives of the people we support. we will also use this information to review our training needs as an organization.
Measure of Success:
to have system for data collection analysis in place and embedded throughout the organization that generates the desired information and is fully accessible to front line staff. monthly service reviews to be completed and inform care plans, risk assessment's and PBS plans. annual reviews to be used to inform organizational approaches.
Priority 2:
Workforce Development - develop and deliver the new training format supplied by Securicare that is compliant with the Restraint Reduction Network's training standards through our 2 in-house associate trainers. give the staff the knowledge and skills to support people in a manner that increases their independence and their desired outcomes are met.
Measure of Success:
1. all our front line staff team receiving the training course with the new material. this will entail theory and a practical assessment in Managing and reducing challenging and hazardous behaviors. 2. personalized training will be available to meet the needs of the clients we support as they are supported as individuals.
Priority 3:
have an robust and accessable post incident support and review strucure in place. this would include a debrief session for staff and customers (if suitable) to allow time for reflection and looking at how any potential situation can be managed in the future. an organizational review structure at all levels to ensure we are adaptable to the needs of our customers.
Measure of Success:
1. agree and implement a document or tool for post incident support for both staff and customers, this can include a debriefing tool. 2. establish a analysis process in services that directs and informs the support given, have an annual organizational review that looks at the incidents of behavior and a=what has/will be done to reduce this.
