IMPORTANT
  • All plans should be submitted by Friday 24 January.
  • Permission to Build must NOT be assumed until written confirmation is received from Adrian Curtin (adrian@professionalbeauty.co.uk).
  • You must submit plans even if you are using the same stand as in previous years, and regardless of your stand's simplicity.
  • Because of the stringent regulations on complex structures, there is a certification fee associated with submission of complex plans. You will see more on the coming pages.
  • Specific regulations dictating the design and build of stands at Aesthetic Medicine Live can be found in the Technical Manual.
Your plans must include:
  • Copies should include at least one elevation plan and one overhead plan; of your plans, clearly indicating walling, features, working exhibits, and demonstration areas. These must also show dimensions (including height) of all aspects (walling, features, etc.) and indicate materials used. In the case of complex structures, these plans must show structural calculations;

  • Method Statement;
  • Proof of Insurance;

Stand Classification

Simple Stands
Simple stands are those stands 4m and under in height and not otherwise using structures that would re-classify the stand as complex (see below).
    Complex Stands
    A complex structure is any form of construction that requires input from a structural engineer to ensure a safe build and operation.

    The following examples would re-classify a stand as complex, regardless of the overall height:
    • Viewing/service platforms
    • Items suspended from drop wires, including lighting rigs and towers
    • Raised walkways
    • Ramps
    • Platforms and stages 60cm and greater in height
    • A structure which requires cross-bracing
    • Stairs, steps and staircases of any height
    • Travel distance to an aisle greater than 10m
    • Temporary grandstands or tiered seating
    Complex stands are subject to a certification fee; see next page.
