Funding
All Visiting Scholars need to provide information on how they will be funded during their proposed visit. For University of California, Berkeley sponsored visas, the minimum monthly funding requirement for a J-1 Exchange Visitor is $2,000. The minimum monthly funding requirement for a J-2 dependent is $600 for the spouse and $400 for each child. Funding sources can include employer, academic institution, government, awards, and personal and private sponsors. It is possible to have more than one funding source.
