2020 Botball Robotics Registration

BOTBALL 2020
(January 8 - March 28)

Program Description:
  • Practices are held twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Participate in a regional competition on Saturday, March 28, 2020
  • Learn to build and write code for robots
  • Build teamwork skills
Program Hours:
  • Wednesday Practices: 4:15PM - 6:00PM
  • Saturday Practices: 10:00AM - 1:30PM

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Female
  • Currently in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade (2019-2020 School Year)
Registration Fee: $35
Fee goes towards snacks during practices and a t-shirt on tournament day


Registration will close on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 12:00PM.

Students must complete short questionnaires. The Elementary Institute of Science (EIS) will select the girls who best demonstrate a commitment to participate in the program. Prior experience with coding, engineering, robotics, and/or STEM is NOT required for participation.

Team Commitment & Engagement
EIS is committed to create a positive and respectful environment for all students in addition to encouraging students to work together and be inclusive. If participants are not respectful towards the materials, equipment, mentors, and other students, a student may be asked to leave the team.

Participation
Due to high demand for the program, for the Botball 2020 season, students and parents/guardians will be notified if the student is selected to participate in the team. If your student is not selected to be part of the team for the current season, they are welcome to re-register for the next season. Registration fees will be refunded if the student is not selected to be part of the team for this season.


Waiver of Liability
By enrolling my child(ren) in this program, I hereby give permission for them to participate in all the various activities, including field trips, of the Elementary Institute of Science (EIS). EIS does not assume financial or legal liability in case of injury or accident. I hereby waive all claims against the Elementary Institute of Science, its Board, employees, and volunteers for injury, accident, illness or death that may occur while participating in EIS programs.

Media Release
By enrolling my child(ren) in this program, with the Elementary Institute of Science (EIS), I, the parent/guardian, agree to authorize EIS to photograph, videotape, film, or quote my child(ren). I authorize the EIS to permit the use and the publication of any photographs, videotape, or film of my child(ren) for publicity purposes, including release of such photographs, videotape, film or quotes, to the news media and on the EIS website. I agree to hold harmless the Elementary Institute of Science, its officers, agents, and employees from any liability resulting from, or arising in connection with, the taking, publication, and release of the photographs, videotape, film or quotes of the student(s) in this agreement.
