The J-2 Visa fee is $600 per dependent and is charged annually in July. Some schools will pay the J-2 fees, but most schools do not agree to that. Please refer to the disclosure documents from your school for details. If the school does not agree to pay, the annual J-2 fees will be your responsibility. If J-2's arrive between July and January of the current school year, they will be charged the full $600 each for this current year. If J-2's arrive between January and April they will be charged $300 each for this current year. If they arrive between April and June 30, the charge will be $150 each for this current year. The following year they will be billed $600 each.
It is VERY important that we know the arrival date of your J-2's prior to their arrival. J-2's MUST be covered by compliant insurance on the day of arrival. If you put an estimated date in this form, then please stay in contact with us about the actual arrival date so that we can have documentation of their insurance.
In order for a family member to be considered a dependent and eligible to receive a J-2 Visa, they must be either a child under the age of 21 or a legally married spouse. You may be required to present birth certificates and marriage certificates in order to obtain their visa.
