Nominate Your Public Health Hero!

The Massachusetts Public Health Association (MPHA) is currently accepting nominations for awards to be presented at our Annual Awards Breakfast on June 5th, 2020. Nomination deadline: February 8th. The MPHA Spring Awards Breakfast is the signature event of the year for the public health community to come together to salute our partners, celebrate our accomplishments, reconnect with colleagues, and get energized for public health advocacy going forward!

All proceeds from the event will go to support MPHA’s mission of eliminating health inequities and creating healthy communities for all.

Nominations will be accepted for the following awards: 

Paul Revere Award 
The Paul Revere Award is MPHA’s highest honor and is reserved for those who have made an outstanding impact on public health in the Commonwealth. The recipient of this award will have made a significant contribution to the promotion and development of public health at the local level within Massachusetts as well as consistently demonstrates initiative, ability, leadership, and conscientiousness in his or her work in the field.

Lemuel Shattuck Award
Awarded to a person who has made or is making a significant contribution to the field of public health. The choice for this award should be based on actual major contributions to the betterment of public health practice. The recipient should be/have been living and/or working in New England for the greater part of his or her career.

Alfred Frechette Award 
Presented to anyone under the age of 40 that has developed an innovative, unique, and original program and shows leadership and promise in the public health field in Massachusetts.

Public Health Leadership in Medicine Award 
For extraordinary commitment to bringing public health principles and partnerships into the practice of medicine.

Corporate Citizenship in Public Health Award 
For leadership and commitment to integrating public health values into business practice.
