Thank you for your interest in presenting at the first-ever Girls in Tech Summit, a celebration of TechGirlz’s 10th Anniversary on April 25, 2020
What is the Girls in Tech Summit?
The Girls in Tech Summit celebrates a decade of TechGirlz with this incredible organization and the accomplishments of the many innovative and enterprising girls in the tech community today.
Our attendees will be middle and high school girls with an interest in tech and entrepreneurship in technology. They are interested in hearing from you on topics that will help them grow their skills, expand their knowledge, and inspire future careers.
If you are a young woman who loves technology, we want YOU to share what you have learned and built in the realm of technology, to inspire other Tech Girlz and celebrate all of your incredible accomplishments together.
Call for Proposals
We have provided important information about the Girls in Tech Summit and our selection process below. Please read all of this information prior to submitting your talk idea.

Speakers should be prepared to lead a 30 minute session (20 minutes of presentation plus 10 minutes for Q&A).

How it Works
Sessions at the Girls in Tech Summit should be grounded in three basic concepts:
- Positive, forward-looking viewpoints
- Actionable messages that help attendees grow skills and prepare for their careers
- Demonstrating that tech is writing code and much more
We are looking for girls to talk about technology and business. Many TechGirlz have participated in our Entrepreneurship Camps to learn both technical skills and how to design and pitch an idea for a new business. Have you started a business or had a job where technology played an important role. We want to hear about it!
Fun and Games
For a lot of us, we got excited about technology or coding through gaming. Have you designed or built a game? Built an incredible mod or world within a game platform? Did you build a robot that plays soccer? What is the most fun you’ve ever had with technology? We are eager to hear about your learning and innovation with gaming, games and fun!
How It Works
Okay, TechGirlz, this is your chance to break it down and tech your fellow TechGirlz something that you know a lot about. Many TechGirlz have been to workshops where we take apart a computer, build a rollercoaster, or produce a podcast. But there’s a lot to know out there. What’s something you have spent years learning? Do you know a lot about Unity (game engine), or circuits, or photoshop? Inspire curiosity and even future careers with a How it Works talk!
The event is on April 25, 2020 from 9 am - 3 pm.
Submission deadlines - We recommend submitting your proposals as soon as possible. The deadline for submissions is February 7, 2020.
While every submission will be evaluated on its own merits, preference will likely be given to girls who have already completed and shared a project in their school or community. We are very excited to hear your talk ideas.
Speakers will be notified by February 29, 2020.
Speakers will have 10 days to respond to notices of acceptance. Failure to respond within 10 days will result in a revocation of the invitation to speak.
Approved speakers are eligible for a complimentary event registration for themselves and a guest. One on one mentoring for preparation for the talk.
All proceeds from the Girls in Tech Summit go to support Techgirlz.org. Techgirlz is a non-profit that inspires girls to explore the possibilities of technology. For this reason, we are unable to provide speakers with a stipend or cover travel expenses.
Speakers, as well as all attendees and sponsors, will be expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct for the Girls in Tech Summit. The code can be viewed here.
We welcome your expertise and look forward to receiving your submission!
