The Raymond Philip Shafer Foundation Scholarship Application
Complete applications are due to the Foundation no later than 5:00 PM on May 1. This form must be completed and supporting documents must be mailed by the deadline. Full Name of College/University
Do not complete this application if you are not currently enrolled in a four-year college/university located in Pennsylvania.
Year in School
I attest that I will be entering my junior or senior year next semester.
You must be entering into your junior or senior year to be eligible for this scholarship.
Do not complete this application if you are not a declared Political Science Major.
Grade Point Average (GPA)
An essay of approximately 250 words must be submitted to supplement your application. A hard copy may be mailed with other supporting documents, if not submitted below.
This essay should describe your political interest(s), experience and goals related to politics, voting and/or public service.
The following supporting documents must be submitted to the Foundation in order for your application to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Letters of Recommendation
- At least three Letters of Recommendation must be submitted to supplement your application.
I attest that I will mail at least three Letters of Recommendation to supplement my application.
Letters of Recommendation may be from advisors, teachers, professors, school administrators, church representatives, supervisors or other who may adequately describe your academic and/or professional achievements, character and/or work ethic. They may not be from relatives.
Official College Transcripts
I attest that I have requested an Official Transcript be sent from my college/university to the Foundation.
I am unable to provide an Official Transcript. (Failure to provide a transcript may result in your application not being considered.)
You are responsible for having your official college transcripts submitted to the Foundation by the appropriate school personnel. The transcript should cover the first two years of undergraduate studies through the end of the Spring term of your Sophomore year.
You may feel that this application has not given you adequate opportunity to present yourself or enough space to sufficiently list the requested information. If so, please prepare any additional comments which would offer a more complete picture of yourself and your qualifications.
