Re: Childhood Cancer Semipostal Stamp
Dear Office of Stamp Services:
It is an honor to write in support of the American Childhood Cancer Organization's application for a childhood cancer semipostal stamp. By submitting this letter, I am requesting that you give final approval of the stamp for production. I fully endorse this cause, and will purchase and use this stamp to spread awareness, and raise funding for childhood cancer.
Every year in the United States there are more than 15,780 children diagnosed with cancer, with approximately 40,000 children on active treatment at any given time. Unlike adult cancer treatment, which has seen many advancements, the majority of children with cancer continue to be treated with drugs that were approved by the FDA more than 50 years ago. Equally devastating is the fact that shortages of existing chemotherapy drugs continue to be a life-threatening reality for many children and their families. Childhood cancer is the leading disease cause of death of America’s children, making childhood cancer a national child health priority deserving our greatest attention. A childhood cancer semipostal stamp would provide much needed funding to increase survival rates and reduce late effects from toxic treatments.
Please accept my strong letter in support of final approval of the semipostal stamp so that America can join together to #StampOutChildhoodCancer.
