Humanity in Perspective (HIP)
Summer Youth Course 2021 Application

Hello!

Thank you for your interest in applying for Humanity in Perspective (HIP) Summer Youth Course 2021. This is a free, 1-credit, college-level course offered by Oregon Humanities for rising Oregon juniors and seniors and 2021 graduates.

We designed this application to get a sense of who you are, why you want to participate in HIP, and your interests, knowledge, and curiosity relating to the humanities subjects we explore.

Applications are due by June 18, 2021, 9:00 a.m. for Session One and July 2, 2021, 9:00 a.m. for Session Two. Check our website to see if we have extended the application period.  In this application you will have the option to state your session preference.

Please read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document before applying so that you can get a good sense of what HIP is, whether it’s right for you, and what to expect if you are admitted. If you cannot access the FAQ online, please contact HIP Program Coordinator and Instructor, Rozzell Medina. (His contact information is below.) You are also welcome to contact him with any additional questions you have after reading the FAQ.

We designed this application to take half an hour or less to complete, although it may take more or less time, and that’s fine. There is an option to save your progress and return to the application. Use the checkbox at the top right of this page.

This is not a high-stakes, competitive application. You do not need a certain GPA to qualify for this opportunity. We are looking for individuals who really want to do this and who are prepared to make a commitment and follow through.

Please answer all applications questions to the best of your ability. Incomplete applications may not be considered. If you have questions or want to fill out the application by phone, please contact Rozzell.

Rozzell Medina | Phone/text (503) 409-9134 | r.medina@oregonhumanities.org.

We will acknowledge receipt of your application when it is submitted and inform you of the status of your application by June 15. If we are considering you for the next round of the application process, we will contact you to schedule an interview.

All applicant information will be kept confidential.
