Intrapreneurship Award 2020 Application Form


The Fair Education Alliance wants to support its members to develop, test and embed internal innovations. Through the Intrapreneurship Award, we will give five FEA member organisations one year of support and six months' salary contribution so a lead Intrapreneur can go full-time on the initiative. 


Application Timeline

Please note that applications close on 29 May 2020, 11.59 PM. You are expected to submit your application before this date to be eligible for the Intrapreneurship Award.


Please note that you can save your responses and then continue your application at any time. Please do this regularly to avoid losing any responses.  


Key dates 

We require all applicants to confirm availability for the following key dates of in-person presence in London: 


  • If you are shortlisted as one of the (up to) top 20 applicants, you will be invited to the Fair Education Alliance office in London on Tuesday 4 August and Wednesday August 2020. Applicants will present their ideas to the Shortlisting Panel who will select up to 10 ideas to go through to the Final Workshop and Assessment Panel. You need to be available on both dates, and individual slots will be allocated one week in advance. 

  • The Final Workshop and Assessment Panel will be held on Thursday 20 August 2020 in London, where (up to) 10 finalists will present their ideas. 

  • The finalists must attend the Intrapreneurship Award launch evening on Thursday 3 September 2020 at the London offices of our sponsor Bloomberg, where (up to) 5 Intrapreneurship Award Winners will be announced. 

  • The Intrapreneurship Award Winners’ package of support will begin on 10 September 2020. 


60 Second Video 
If you are a selected as one of the (up to) 10 finalists, you will be asked to submit a 60 second video by 13 August 2020 which explains the problem your idea solves, your solution and why you should win. These videos will be showcased online for the public to vote for the 2020 Community Choice Award.

Legal and membership

The organisation is a member of the Fair Education Alliance.

 

This can be any type of organisation – e.g. charities, schools, think tanks, unions, social enterprises, universities, etc.

 

Organisations may apply individually or in partnership.

 

Non-members who are interested in applying for the Intrapreneurship Award will be invited to apply to become a member within the application window. If you are not yet a member but are interested in applying for both membership and the Intrapreneurship Award, please contact the team with an expression of interest.

The idea is focussed on closing the gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers  

 

The organisation is a legally incorporated entity

 

The organisation has not been in deficit in the last 2 years (unless they are able to provide strategic rationale for this)

Must be able to contribute to covering costs of the Intrapreneur; organisation will receive £15k for salary contribution over six months

Organisation mission and stage

The organisation has been delivering their core intervention for at least three years post pilot

 

The organisation has at least three members of staff working full time for the organisation for at least the past 12 months

 

The organisation can afford to cover associated costs and dedicate some organisational capacity

 

Organisations currently lacking the resources to innovate

The organisation hasn’t yet secured over £20k for the initiative OR the lead Intrapreneur hasn’t gone full-time on the initiative

Commitment

The organisation's application for Intrapreneurship Award programme is supported by the board (or relevant governance structure)

As part of the application process we will ask for a letter of support from your board.

An individual with leadership potential within an established organisation; an individual across a multi-organisational partnership; or a new hire for a brand-new strand of work if the expertise doesn’t currently exist in the organisation (new hire must be in post by 1st Sep 2020)
