Eligibility Criteria

To apply to Kitchen of Purpose's Culinary Job Training Program, you must meet the following requirements:
  • Passion for cooking and desire to pursue a career in the culinary arts.
  • 18 years old or older
  • Able to stand for 6-8 hours
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs from the floor to the table
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend English language (if applying to the English Cohort) or Spanish language (if applying to the Spanish Cohort)
  • Drug-free for at least 120 days before applying to the program and agree to be subject to random drug testing while participating in the program
  • Comply with the training hours and attendance policy 
Application Checklist 

1) You will need to upload the following documents or drop them off in person at Kitchen of Purpose. 
  • Complete the Online Application Form 
  • Ensure your Referrer has completed the Online Referral Form (you will receive a link to send them after you have submitted your online application)
  • Copy of Valid US Government-Issued ID (US passport, Green Card, Working Permit or Driver’s License) 
  • Copy of Social Security Card 
  • Copy of Last Income Tax Return form (2022) or Copy of SNAP receipt or Copy of last pay stub. 
  • Proof of residency (ID with address, utility bill, credit card statement, cellphone bill, rent, etc.) 
  • Covid-19 Vaccination Card
2) Pass an interview with Kitchen of Purpose's staff.

3) Apply for a training subsidy with an agency local to you.



Criterio de elegibilidad

Para aplicar al Programa de entrenamiento culinario bilingüe de Kitchen of Purpose, usted debe cumplir con los siguientes requisitos:
  • Pasión por la cocina y deseo de tener una carrera en las artes culinarias
  • 18 años o mayor
  • Capaz de estar de pie por 6-8 horas
  • Capaz de levantar hasta 50 libras desde el piso hasta una mesa

  • Capaz de leer, escribir y comprender el idioma español (si está aplicando a la clase en español) o el idioma inglés (si está aplicando a la clase en inglés)
  • Libre de drogas por un mínimo de 120 días antes de aplicar al programa y dispuesto a estar sujeto a pruebas aleatorias de consumo de drogas durante su participación en el programa
  • Cumplir con las horas del entrenamiento y la política de asistencia
  • Estar vacunado contra Covid-19 
Lista de requisitios para aplicar 

1) Mandar los siguientes documentos por correo o traer a Kitchen of Purpose 
  • Complete el formulario de solicitud en línea
  • Asegúrese de que su Remitente haya completado el Formulario de referencia en línea (recibirá un enlace para enviarlo después de haber enviado su solicitud en línea) 
  • Copia de un Documento de Identidad válido y emitido en los Estados Unidos (Pasaporte Estadounidense, Tarjeta de Residencia Permanente, Permiso de Trabajo o Licencia de Conducir) 
  • Copia de la tarjeta de Seguro Social 
  • Copia del último Tax Return (2022) ó Copia de cupones de SNAP ó Copia de su último recibo de pago 
  • Prueba de domicilio (Identificación con dirección, recibos por utilidades, recibo de tarjeta de crédito, recibo de celular, renta, etc.) 
  • Resultados de prueba de tuberculosis. 
2) Pasar una entrevista con el personal de Kitchen of Purpose.

3) Aplicar para un subsidio de entrenamiento con una agencia local.
