  • Accessibility Self Assessment Program (ASAP) 
Organization is provided with a comprehensive 4 part survey to address areas of potential improvement for accessibility and inclusive practices, policies, and procedures. Art-Reach staff provides report based on results.

  • Accessible Tools for Online Learning
This workshop and Q & A is designed for professional educators working in the arts and cultural sector to provide tools to manage teaching students in virtual/online platforms. Covid-19 changed how educators present content.  Without direct access to museum objects, performance venues, or historic homes, many have had to master technology, screen based teaching, and inclusive lesson plans in our own homes. In this one hour workshop Art-Reach will share tools collected from special education teacher, instructional designers, teaching artists, zoom experts, and disability advocates. Additional resources and invitation to participate in monthly zoom meet ups will be shared.

  • Cultural Accessibility Training (CAT)
This training aims to redefine disability. Art-Reach’s training focuses on the social model of disability, disability etiquette and respectful language while exploring variations to each of those themes along the way. Training is customized and can assist people who work in specific sectors of arts & culture as well as businesses and for-profit companies. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and come away with valuable tools for welcoming visitors with disabilities and building customer service skills.
Duration: 2.5 hours (1.5 hours virtual asynchronous learning, 1 hour live Q&A)

  • Cultural Accessible Program Assessment (CAPA)
This workshop and program assessment focuses on community engagement and helps organizations build more inclusive programs, events, and performances. Meet with Art-Reach staff for a site visit prior to workshop; Art-Reach helps scaffold priorities, recognize institutional strengths, and identify needs. From sensory-friendly tours for neuro-diverse audiences to verbally described/touch tours for people who are blind and low vision prior to a theater performance, Art-Reach helps organizations create immersive and engaging programs for people with disabilities. Additional assessments of a pilot program and a focus group feedback from the disability community can be added for an additional fee.

A workshop with staff to build more awareness around the physical, technological, communication and organizational barriers.

Accessible Ticketing and Customer Service Learn your organization’s obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as well as best practices for outrageous customer service and intentional inclusion. Find out the regulations and standards for Title III of the ADA, discover a process for developing Access Champions within your team, grow awareness for the disability community and determine considerations for intentional inclusion at your organization.

Understand the Americans with Disabilities Act and its application in the cultural sector. Understand the current landscape of language, whether it is person-first language and/or identity-first language, recognize the fluidity and how to be an ally inbuilding awareness, humility, and patience.

Customer Service is the first touchpoint of connectivity our guests have with our cultural experiences. How can we ensure that our policies, practices, and procedures make welcoming the community of people with disabilities a priority? By being Access Champions!

Unconscious Bias: Ableism
This 3 hour workshop covers the history of ableism, it’s key indicators, approaches in the arts, and facilitated exercises designed to recognize bias and build empathy for people with disabilities.
