in deportation proceedings get legal advice about their case.

agree by typing in your name and today's date in the boxes at the bottom of this form.
in my role as a volunteer attorney today I understand that the goal of the Pro
Bono Resource Center’s (PBRC) Maryland Immigrant Legal Assistance Project is to
ensure access to justice and due process for people who are placed in removal
proceedings. I want to participate in
this project by providing free legal services to these individuals. As a participant
in the Project, I promise to:
- Treat as confidential all personal information I learn about the clinic clients and ensure that no one will be able to overhear my conversations with the client;
- Send any written notes I created as a part of the consult to MILAP (including notes on my computer or in writing and screenshots of texts which may have been sent to the client) immediately following the clinic;
- Delete or shred any notes remaining on my phone’s camera, email outbox, computer, or in handwriting on paper immediately after a MILAP staff member has confirmed that MILAP has all the information they need about the consult and have instructed me to do so;
- Delete the PBRC contact number from my WhatsApp Business or WhatsApp account immediately upon instruction from a MILAP staff member.
- I will not solicit or attempt to solicit to represent clients/attendees present at this clinic, unless I am agreeing to represent the client/attendees on a pro bono basis.
- I will not solicit or accept any payment from clients referred to me through this project for related matters such as Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, Asylum, U Visa, T Visa, Voluntary Departure, Prosecutorial Discretion (including DACA and DAPA), Family Petition, or other immigration applications/proceedings.
- I understand that if I solicit or attempt to solicit clients/attendees present at this clinic, or represent such clients/attendees, other than on a pro bono basis, I will be terminated as a volunteer and will be charged the standard fee for any training classes that I attended related to the Project.
