Norms for Online Workshops with High Tech High and the High Tech High Graduate School of Education
Thank you for registering for an online session with High Tech High (HTH) and/or the High Tech High Graduate School of Education (HTH GSE).
As part of your online workshop with HTH and the HTH GSE, you will may the opportunity to interact with HTH K–12 students in online spaces, via video and/or audio conferencing. We take the privacy and security of our students very seriously and expect that everyone who interacts with HTH students will do so, as well.
Always respect HTH K–12 students’ privacy. Do not ask for information that would personally identify the student. Do not ask for students’ contact information. If you would like to follow up with a student to ask questions, please contact your HTH staff facilitator, who will make arrangements for you.
Make sure an HTH teacher is present for your work with HTH students. Always make sure that an HTH staff member is present when you are working with HTH K–12 students. If not, please email or chat to the HTH staff facilitating your session to join you. As you wait, please mute your microphone and turn off your camera. Do not privately message HTH K–12 students. If you’d like to contact a student directly, contact the HTH staff facilitator of your workshop and ask for assistance.
Photography and Video Guidelines
Participants may take photographs, screenshots, or video for personal, non-commercial use of:
High Tech High environment/facilities
Student work that does not identify particular students
Classrooms and projects
Participants in online workshops may not take screenshots, photos, or videos of students and/or any material that might violate student privacy in any way. We ask that you use your best judgment, and when in doubt, to always ask an HTH or HTH GSE staff member. We are happy to field your questions.
HTH and/or the HTH GSE and its authorized representatives may record on photography film and/or video, pictures of your participation. Any or all of the material photographed may be used, in any form, as part of any future publications, brochure, or other printed materials used to promote High Tech High, and further that such use shall be without payment of fees, royalties, special credit or other compensation.
All HTH and/or HTH GSE online workshops are recorded for our archives and to share with past, current, or future participants.
