Food 4 Families

The Intertribal Agriculture Council, in partnership with Farm-Aid, Indian Land Tenure Foundation, and First Nations Development Institute is proud to announce the “Food 4 Families” initiative; while funds last, we are awarding coupons to cover processing fees of eligible show animals.

  • Are you a Tribal youth that is an active 4H/FFA member in Indian Country?

  • Did you have a recent COVID-19 related cancellation of your local live auction prevent you from marketing your 2020 4H/FFA Livestock Animal?

If you answered YES to both questions, you qualify to apply!

Application Process

In order for your application to be considered, we request that you submit either a written essay or a recorded video sharing with us:

1. What has your involvement with 4-H/FFA, your Tribe, and IAC taught you about feeding people?

2. Since you are unable to sell your market animal this year, have you decided to sell the meat from your animal or feed your own family, and why?

3. Who will you and your animal be helping to feed this year?

Guidelines for Processing Coupons (if applicant is identified as a recipient):

1. Animal must have been purchased/or raised for sale in an established 4-H/FFA show cancelled due to the COVID-19 Crisis.

2. Processing fees will be paid up to the following limits per each animal:

Species Kill price: Cut & Wrap
Steer $100 $.75 per lb. hanging wt
Hog $75 $.75 per lb. hanging wt
Lamb $75 $.75 per lb. hanging wt
Other TBD TBD
