The Behavior Management series provides participants with knowledge and skills to facilitate conflict resolution in their program by encouraging youth to manage feelings and resolve conflictsappropriately. Participants will learn how to reframe all youth behavior as opportunities for youth to learn responsibility, emotion management and problem-solving skills. 

 

Reframing Conflict   

 

Training Objectives

Participants will: 

  1. Examine the roles they play in conflict situations in their program. 

  2. Demonstrate examples of Reframing Conflict using the High/Scope step-by-step model and the general principles for conflict resolution. 

  3. Explain how reframing conflict can turn conflict resolutions into opportunities for growth. 

 

Reframing Behavior Management Part 1

 

Training Objectives

Participants will: 

  1. Identify how youths’ challenging behaviors relate to skills they need to learn. 

  2. Describe youths’ needs for belonging and significance. 

  3. Determine the “mistaken belief” underneath youths’ negative behavior. 

  4. Practice the authoritative/encouraging style of behavior management through role-play. 

 

Reframing Behavior Management Part 2

 

Training Objectives 

Participants will: 

  1. Compare natural/logical consequences to punishment. 

  2. Apply the authoritative/encouraging style of discipline through role-play. 

  3. Identify which “mistaken belief” youth may have based on their behavior. 

  4. Employ strategies for responding to behavior that will increase youth responsibility and teach important life skills.

Participants are REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL THREE TRAININGS in the series and complete the assignments in between trainings.

CEU Information

Upon successful completion of this training series and follow up assignment(s), the participant will earn 12 clock hours (1.2 CEUs) of training.

 

If requesting CEUs, participants must check the box below and enter their registry ID number.

 

Participants must be Prime Time registry members in order to receive CEUs for trainings.

Participants must complete all assignments satisfactorily, attend all sessions of this training series, miss no more than 15 minutes of total training time and actively participate during training sessions to receive CEUs  for this training series.

Thank you for your interest in attending Prime Time trainings. We are currently experiencing a very high volume of registrations. We are working to enroll practitioners who are not currently being paid first, so that they may receive a stipend for training participation. You may be placed on a wait list. We encourage you to continue trying to register for other trainings. If you receive notification that you have been enrolled, you may be eligible for an incentive upon successful completion of the training. Please complete the registration form in order to be considered.
