The Leadership Essentials Series provides directors, assistant directors and staff in leadership positions an opportunity to learn about their unique leadership style and create professional development plans to improve coaching andsupervisoryskills. Participants will practice these skills to effectivelysupporttheir staff to provide the most meaningful opportunities for youth. 

 

OST Leadership Part 1-Introduction- Online (Self-Paced)


Training Objectives

Participants will: 

  1. Define the Myers-Briggs Type Instrument (MBTI) and the eight (8) psychological preferences. 

  2. Participate in the MBTI Assessment Online to assess their MBTI Type. 

  3. Compare each psychological preference and use their MBTI Type to understand their leadership style. 

 

 

OST Leadership Part 2-Progressive Afterschool Director 1


Training Objectives 

Participants will: 

  1. Recall the Myers-Briggs Type Instrument (MBTI) and the eight psychological preferences. 

  2. Examine the results of the MBTI Assessment as they relate to work style, leadership style, communication and the core competencies for afterschool professionals. 

  3. Implement a suite of tools and strategies through a Personal Leadership Plan. 

 

OST Leadership Part 3-Progressive Afterschool Director 2


Training Objectives

Participants will: 

  1. Evaluate their OST Leadership Plan and revise accordingly. 

  2. Illustrate how OST leadership style relates to program culture and effectiveness. 

  3. Integrate mentoring strategies based on MBTI leadership type to create an optimally balanced program culture. 

  4. Utilize the Core Competencies to assist staff in professional development planning. 

 

OST Leadership Part 4- Implementing Leadership Strategies


Training Objectives

Participants will: 

  1. Summarize their artifacts and experience of implementing their Mentorship Action Plans. 

  2. Explain ways to overcome barriers and increase strengths on their teams. 

  3. Implement strategies for embedding Individual Career Plan goals and other tools for professional development in their systems and procedures.

Participants are REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL FOUR TRAININGS in the series and complete the assignments in between trainings.

CEU Information

Upon successful completion of this training series and follow up assignment(s), the participant will earn 16 clock hours (1.6 CEUs) of training.

 

If requesting CEUs, participants must check the box below and enter their registry ID number.

 

Participants must be Prime Time registry members in order to receive CEUs for trainings.

Participants must complete all assignments satisfactorily, attend all sessions of this training series, miss no more than 15 minutes of total training time and actively participate during training sessions to receive CEUs  for this training series.

We are working to enroll practitioners who are not currently being paid first, so that they may receive a stipend for training participation. You may be placed on a wait list. We encourage you to continue trying to register for other trainings. If you receive notification that you have been enrolled, you may be eligible for an incentive upon successful completion of the training. Please complete the registration form in order to be considered.
