Solidarity Fund 2.0 : Relief Grants for Artists & Cultural Workers

The Solidarity Fund 2.0 provides one-time grants to individual artists, cultural workers, and small arts organizations in the US South experiencing financial emergency or hardship specifically related to COVID-19 pandemic.  You can read more about it here

To be eligible to apply for the Solidarity 2.0 Fund, ALL of the following must be true for you:

  • You are an individual artist or cultural worker within the ROOTS Region of ARKANSAS, KENTUCKY, VIRGINIA, WEST VIRGINIA. 

  • You are 18 years or older. 

  • You have experienced an unexpected financial emergency or hardship specifically related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ROOTS seeks to support increased participation of youth, TGNCNBI2-S (Transgender, Non-Conforming, Nonbinary, Intersex, and Two-Spirit), Indigenous and First Peoples, Latinx, and disability communities in the South. Preference will be given to submissions centered around and created by members of these communities.


Cycle Dates: Tuesday, September 15th - Friday, November 6th (12 pm ET)

Phase 1:

Deadline: Friday, September 25th, 12 pm​ EST

Notifications: Monday, October 5th

Payment: Friday, October 16th

Phase 2:

Deadline: Friday, October 16th, 12 pm EST

Notifications: Monday, October 26th

Payment: Friday, November 13th

Phase 3:

Deadline: Friday, November 6th, 12 pm EST 

Notifications: Monday, November 16th

Payment: Friday, November 27th

Requests will be reviewed by Alternate ROOTS on a rolling basis as outlined in the cycle timeline. Unfunded requests and requests received after the deadline for each phase will roll over to the next phase until the cycle closes. 

Please do not submit more than one request per cycle. 


Artists and cultural workers who live in these states are eligible to apply.

Alternate ROOTS membership is NOT required to received assistance from the Solidarity Fund 2.0.

Suggested range is between $500 -$5000 for individual artists and cultural workers

This information helps us acquire grants & resources to further support work within our community and the US South. Individual applicant data (including name) will not be shared, duplicated, or distributed publicly. Additionally, aggregated applicant data will be collected, summarized, and shared in reports to funders and/or the public, without disclosing any personal information.
