NYCDOE SPECIAL EDUCATION/IEP BUSING

School transportation for students with disabilities has long been problematic, especially at the start of each school year and summer school. For obvious reasons, we suspect busing may be even more challenging this year than in the past, including that The Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) is no longer sending busing information to families by mail (yellow envelopes).

If your child is entitled to busing to and from school and has already attended school in-person this September or will soon, we would love to hear from you!

This will help us help you. It also will help us know what changes to the system should occur right now and what recommendations we should make to the New York City Department of Education, so all students with disabilities get the busing services they are entitled to.
