Scholarship Eligibility and Criteria

Eligibility for the Young Family Scholarship for Art and Design is based on a student’s participation in Next Level Scholars, merit, portfolio and financial need.

In order to be eligible to receive the scholarship, a student must:

Have participated in the Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars Next Level Scholars program their sophomore, junior and senior years of high school.
Have applied to, been accepted to and would like to enroll at the College for Creative Studies for Fall 2021.
Have included the College for Creative Studies on the FAFSA.
Fully complete all of the scholarship application materials.

Scholarship awards are varied by student need, with an anticipated maximum award of $8,000 per year, up to 4 years, for a total of $32,000.

Select the option to “Make FAFSA Corrections”. Go to the section where you’ve listed colleges and add the new school code(s). If you’ve already listed ten schools on your FAFSA, you’ll need to delete some to make room for any new school codes. Hit Submit.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF RECEIVING THE YOUNG FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FOR ART AND DESIGN

Should I be awarded the Young Family Scholarship for Art and Design at the College for Creative Studies:

I understand that my scholarship award will come from the College for Creative Studies. I understand I will still be awarded the Dollars for Scholars scholarship, and must complete all requirements in order to recieve it.

I agree to permit Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars to confer with my post-secondary institution to verify my enrollment during the term of my award(s).

I understand that I am eligible for a maximum of $8,000 per year, and can be subject to change pending my financial aid package and approval from Dollars for Scholars and the College for Creative Studies.

I understand that I must claim my scholarship funds in consecutive years, and will not take time off between semesters.

I agree to be involved with Dollars for Scholars as an alumni and to stay in touch with the donor.

I will maintain a G.P.A of a 3.0 during post-secondary.
