COVID-19 CARES Act Relief Grants for Community Based Intermediate Care Facilities for the Intellectually Disabled (ICF/ID), Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF),

Psychiatric Medical Institutions for Children (PMICs), Nursing Facilities (NF), and Nursing Facilities for the Mentally Ill (NF-MI)

As a part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Department of Human Services (DHS) will distribute relief grants to Intermediate Care Facilities for the Intellectually Disabled (ICF/ID), Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Psychiatric Medical Institutions for Children (PMICs), Nursing Facilities (NF), and Nursing Facilities for the Mentally Ill (NF-MI) to help offset impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. All Medicaid enrolled facilities physically located and licensed in Iowa will automatically receive a payment from DHS via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). DHS will distribute grant payments proportionally to each facility based on their respective claims payment pre-COVID.

In order to keep the grant payment, the facility will need to complete the attestation below and submit it to the Department. Starting March 1, 2021, the IME will contact providers who haven't attested to remind them to complete the agreement online.  If you do not wish to keep the grant, you must return the money to the Department by March 5, 2021* (*Deadline extended). Grants not attested for, and not returned to the Department by the deadline will be subject to recoupment by the Department.

Along with submitting this attestation, facilities must also complete and submit a Minority Impact Statement to IMEProviderServices@dhs.state.ia.us.

The State's acceptance and funding of the provider's application constitutes a contract between DHS and the provider consistent with the application and associated Terms and Conditions.
