EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - Play Academy with Naomi Osaka

Guidance for completing this form
This form is for completion by Los Angeles-based organizations seeking funding from Play Academy with Naomi Osaka, an initiative supported by Laureus Sport for Good and Nike aimed at changing girls' lives through play and sport.

We are interested in non-profit organizations in LA working to support girls – prioritizing Black, Asian and Latinx communities – to ensure they have more opportunities to access and benefit from play and sport. Girls who are active are not only healthier and do better in school, in their careers and in the community, they also have an increased sense of self, positive coping skills and increased goal setting.

More generally, Laureus supports organizations across a variety of Social Focus Areas in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals:

  1. Education - More youth attending and completing school with increased attainment
  2. Health and Well-being - Reducing childhood obesity, increasing physical activity, and/or        increasing social-emotional learning assets in children and youth
  3. Employment - Increasing technical skills, qualifications, and soft skills of youth that help prepare youth for employment
  4. Inclusive Society - Creating communities which embrace ethnic, cultural, and physical difference
  5. Women and Girls - Promoting equity, empowerment, and safety
  6. Peaceful Society - Resolving conflict, supporting community peacemaking, and access to safe spaces
