SEL IV – Responding to Trauma and Reactivity

Description:

Effectively dealing with trauma and managing the stressors of everyday life are foundational social and emotional skills. In this training, we will explore stressors and the ways humans typically react to both big and mundane life events that may get in the way of our well-being and relationships. Participants are encouraged to increase awareness of their reactions as the first step to intentionally practice self-care, and to track how this impacts their interactions with adults and youth at work. Participants will also learn how to notice and manage reactivity both in and out of the Afternoon Meeting setting using a proactive approach to discipline.
