SEL V – Building Resilience and Self-Care

Building upon the previous session, participants are invited to continue the journey into self-care by practicing key mindfulness and self-regulation techniques that bring greater well-being and balance. In the long term, regular practice can lead to what is referred to in neuroscience as resilience – the ability to adapt, respond and bounce back from trauma and constantly changing life situations. Participants continue to apply and track the effects of emotional regulation tools in interactions with coworkers and youth. Ways of proactive responding and building resilience among youth in an Afternoon Meeting are explored, including choosing activities that promote self-regulation.
