Keep Texas Beautiful, in partnership with Dos XX is proud to announce the 2021 Dos XX Waterways Cleanup Month Grants to support beautification and cleanup projects that improve Texas waterways and water quality.

The Dos XX Waterways Cleanup Grants will provide selected affiliate communities with funding for cleanup, landscaping and/or general clean up projects that impact waterways. KTB will support affiliate communities with a marketing toolkit and also provide additional supplies, if needed for this project, including trash bags, face masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer. Communities must have a plan in place to ensure their projects are safe and follow state and local COVID-19 guidelines. Applicants and participants/volunteers must be 21+ years of age.


Grant Funds Should be Used for Funds should be used to support beautification and cleanup projects that impact Texas waterways or water quality including, but not limited to, rivers, beaches, lakes, creeks, and drainage systems.

Grant Amount

The minimum grant award is $500 will be awarded to five (5) affiliates.


Eligibility

You must be a KTB affiliate with Gold Star, Silver Star or Good Standing affiliate status for 2020.


Coronavirus Precautions

Winning communities must agree to follow all state and local regulations regarding COVID-19 and submit a safety plan for the project.


Criteria

  • Only fully completed applications submitted by eligible parties will be considered 
  • Applicant and participants/volunteers must be 21+ years of age
  • Other sources of funding may be used to complete the project; however, project must be completed 
  • Applicants must agree to submit a wrap-up report by the deadline noted (see “Timeline” section)
  • Use of social media and pictures to promote grant activities is encouraged; grant recipient should use the handles below:

Grantees may be asked to participate in a regional press event.


Evaluation Process

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges.  All decisions made by the judges are final. Grant allocations will be determined by scope of service.


Timeline

  • January 15, 2021: Application opens
  • February 15, 2021: Application(s) must be received by KTB by 5 p.m. CST
  • February 26, 2021: Winners will be notified
  • March 5, 2021: Checks mailed to grant recipients
  • June 20, 2021: Final report form must be received by KTB by 5 p.m. CST
    • Please note: By accepting funds for their project, grant applicants consent to completing the final report on time. Failure to do so will result in loss of KTB affiliate benefits and future grant participation
