Welcome to the Green Beret Foundation Athena Scholarship Application!

The Green Beret Foundation is pleased to provide educational scholarships to deserving spouses within the U.S. Army Special Forces community pursuing their undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Applications will be accepted April 1st through May 1st.

All application information must be submitted through this application form. Applications and documents will not be accepted via USPS, email, fax, or over the phone.

Scholarship funds are sent directly to the applicant's educational institution and are to be used for tuition. Winners will be notified on or before June 1, 2024.

DD 214 Form Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, Current (within the last year) Enlisted Record Brief, Officer Record Brief, or Soldier Talent Profile reflecting U.S. Army Special Forces qualification of sponsor to be submitted with scholarship application. Orders and Special Forces Tab Award letters will not be accepted.

Proof of enrollment at an accredited undergraduate or graduate institution. Acceptable proof includes: acceptance letter if this is your first semester at the educational institution, or most recent transcript if you have been attending the educational institution.

Personal statement (500-1000 words) explaining how your experiences as a spouse of a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier have affected you, your financial need for the scholarship, and your personal and educational goals for the future. Please do not include sponsor's name or Special Forces Group (1st, 3rd, 5th, etc.) affiliations within the statement.

Please submit a recent photograph suitable for publication.
