Kinship carers in Wales - what do you need?

Kinship (formerly Grandparents Plus) is the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. We offer kinship carers financial, legal, practical and emotional support and understanding from the moment they need it, for as long as they need it.

We’re developing our work in Wales to be able to support all kinship carers across Wales. But we need your help.

We need you to tell us what you need and how you feel as a kinship carer in Wales. This will help us develop our services for you across Wales.

We’ll be reading through all your responses and comments, to help us shape support for kinship carers in Wales and apply for funding. We want kinship carers to be central to all our work at Kinship and the information you give us will help us to achieve this.

It should take no longer than 15 - 20 minutes.

If you need extra support filling in the survey, please contact us on info@kinship.org.uk

The following survey is totally confidential.

If you would prefer to fill out this survey in Welsh, we have a Welsh language version here:

About you:

This section is about you as a kinship carer. It will help us get a picture of who is caring for kinship children in Wales.

Demographics:

What you need:

At Kinship Wales, we believe that as kinship carers you know best what works for you and what support you need.

The questions below are about understanding what support you need and how you currently access support.

This will help us build a clear picture of how we can support you in future.

How are you feeling?

We know that being a kinship carer is an incredible and rewarding role, but we also know it can be really tough.

The questions below, are about finding out how you are feeling at the moment so we can think about what type of support you need – and we can build a better picture to share with funders.

Access to technology:

This is the final part of the survey and is about how you access support and the technology you use.

Thank you:

You can get involved as much or as little as you like - there are opportunities for volunteering, sharing your experiences in our communications and surveys, and campaigning for a fairer deal for kinship families.
