Thank you for your interest in becoming a Latino Conservation Week Ambassador for 2021! Through this new program, we hope to recruit partners, alumni, and others from our network to serve as Ambassador Leaders in different regions of the country. Each leader will be trained as an LCW Ambassador and will be responsible for:
Attending virtual training with Hispanic Access staff prior to LCW in July.
Assisting regional partners, both current and new, by connecting them to potential partners and available resources.
Attending local events to collect pictures and stories or to volunteer with event coordination (welcome, not required).
Serving as a local LCW expert that can help folks upload events to the website, connect with partners, and plan their events.
Receiving swag items (stickers) to distribute to partners at events or before events, as necessary.
Sharing relevant data with HAF staff.
Participating in news stories / op-eds, etc as needed.
Keeping HAF staff up to date on known events in the region.
Each Ambassador will receive a $1,000 stipend for their contract, which will run roughly from early May to the end of August. If all goes well, we will hope to convene in person towards the end of August, but that will be determined closer to the date.
For our first year, we will be piloting a group of 2-3 ambassadors and will plan to increase that amount each year as the program grows. The application will be open until May 6, 2021 and all selected ambassadors will be notified by May 10, 2021 with our first training taking place before the end of the month.
