1. Description of the business context, including the nature of the assets and the nature of services they provide (200 words max): {Quantity, type and operational environment e.g. Local government property portfolio, or 300 sites containing 132 kV electrical transformers, etc.}

2. What was the nature of the team achievement (200 words max)? {An operational team or department in, or across organisations, who have made a significant contribution to their project/business/organisation or the asset management knowledge base. The team should consist of people from across the organisation or from people from different organisations.}

6. Business benefits (200 words max) {What were the benefits and improvements which were ultimately delivered? We recognise benefits may not be primarily financial, but could involve improved data quality, better customer service or improved quality/safety. Please try and quantify benefits.}

7. Validation (200 words max) {Was it possible to have the benefits/improvements validated? How was this done? Did anybody scrutinise the results? Were they borne out in practice? Was the approach subject to independent audit and continuous improvement and if yes how was this done?}

Application Guidance Notes

Nomination Eligibility

At least one member of the team must be a paid up member of SAAMA.
The candidate(s) does not have to be an “Asset Manager” or within the “Asset Management Team” per se, but needs to demonstrate achievements in the field of asset management. For example, the candidate could be an Engineering student or working in a Finance role.
It is recommended that all nominations are supported by a Sponsor. The Sponsor is asked to encourage and invite individuals to put themselves forward for recognition.
The Sponsor should typically be a more senior colleague or mentor. The Sponsor should have a good level of understanding of the candidate’s achievements and capability but is not asked to verify specific details of applications.
The Sponsor does not have to be a member of SAAMA but should have sufficient knowledge of asset management to complete the nomination form.
