Donations from people like you who share our values keep Free
Shakespeare free in local public parks. Your support pays Teaching Artists
equitable wages to work with students in Shakespeare Camps, creates
teacher resources in Takes On Shakes, and provides engaging instruction
for people on the autism spectrum in Shakespeare’s Heartbeat. Even in
the darkest of times, your donations literally keep the lights on so that our
artists, teachers, students, and audiences can return to the hopeful words and
themes of Shakespeare.
The past 18 months tested us. We experienced major losses of earned revenue
from our Shakespeare Camps and Shakespeare On Tour program,
struggled to keep staff and artists employed, and endured a very real challenge
to the nature of live theater.
As we continue to navigate these uncertain times,
we at SF Shakes need your financial support to keep doing what we do best:
overcoming obstacles to make great Shakespeare accessible to everyone.
If you share our belief in the transformative
power of the performing arts, then please, give what you can.
Every gift makes a difference. Annual Free
Shakespeare attendees, and Shakespeare Camp families often
donate $125, $250 or $500. Many first-time donors make an introductory gift of
$40. Whether its $5,000 or $10, what's most important is to give and share the
love of Shakespeare's timeless words and themes.
