Honorarium
The Washington State Poet Laureate receives a modest stipend for their work across the state each year. Organizations are encouraged to offer additional honoraria commensurate with the activities they are requesting of the laureate and their capacity to pay.

Typical honoraria for organizations with budgets for public programs range from $100-250 for an hour-long presentation, including prep time. In no way is an honorarium a requirement for scheduling an event with the Washington State Poet Laureate.
Agreement
By submitting this application, the host organization contact agrees to:
  • Verbally acknowledge Humanities Washington and ArtsWA/Washington State Arts Commission and their sponsorship of the Washington State Poet Laureate program at the beginning and end of each program. 
  • Prominently include the Humanities Washington and ArtsWA/Washington State Arts Commission logos on all promotional materials.
  • Confirm the program will be free and open to the general public (except for school performances).
  • Widely publicize the program to the local community using publicity materials provided by the Washington State Poet Laureate.
  • Promptly notify the Poet Laureate and Humanities Washington of any scheduling or location changes to the program. 
  • Reconfirm all arrangements with the Poet Laureate two weeks before the program.
