BEFORE APPLYING PLEASE READ

In order to qualify, you must agree and be able to follow a strict schedule and protocol/training methods. Please read through the required qualifications below through page 1 to be sure you are able to commit to the requirements before applying.

Time / Schedule Committment

  • Weekend Fosters are required to participate twice a month in Friday training sessions at the PAALS facility (unless otherwise noted) at 221 N. Grampian Hills Road, Columbia.
  • These sessions are currently scheduled sometime between 4:00pm - 6:00 PM, but are subject to change. 
  • Sessions are scheduled one month in advance. (Please check your correspondence should anything change.
  • At the end of each Friday evening training session, Weekend Fosters will take the PAALS puppy home for the weekend.
  • On the Fridays when no Weekend Foster training class is held, Weekend Fosters will pick up their puppy from the PAALS at 221 N. Grampian Hills Road (unless otherwise noted.) 
  • Weekend Fosters are required to fill out reports on the puppy regarding the weekend's activities, behavior and training.
  • Weekend Fosters must pick up their puppy on Fridays no later than 6:00pm.
  • Weekend Fosters are required to return the puppy to the PAALS facility at 221 N. Grampian Hills Road (unless otherwise noted) on Monday am.  (As early as 7:00am)
  • Must allow PAALS to perform a home visit to assure your home is safe for a PAALS pup. Note: If you already own a dog, we will bring a PAALS dog to the home visit to test compatibility.

Unfortunately you are not qualified at this time to be accepted as a PAALS foster volunteer. Please fill out a CONTACT FORM and we can discuss further options.
