(Typically between 0% and 2% - depending on loan amount and term – and needs to be in accordance with Mission Housing’s most recent ‘interest rate table’. Interest is added to the monthly rent that the shared owner or tenant pays Mission Housing.)

Interest will be paid net of tax and accounted for to HMRC. An annual tax deduction certificate will be issued.

If you wish to release (forgive) the loan in your Will(s) then you must ensure that your Will(s) contain(s) a legacy to this effect. (Please note, if this application is being made by a couple, on the death of the first lender, the loan will transfer solely into the name of the surviving lender.)

So that we have a record of your wishes please tick one of the following boxes:
Gifting the value of the loan to the key Christian worker or organisation.
If you do this, you will need to clearly state your intention in your Will(s) (your Will writer will be able to advise you) and we recommend you seek advice concerning how this arrangement will impact inheritance tax. Mission Housing will return the loan to the last surviving lender’s estate – for the estate to then make the gift directly to the key Christian worker or organisation – unless we receive written instructions from the trustees of the estate to do otherwise.
