Applying for a Literacy Leadership - Digital Literacy AmeriCorps VISTA project

Please complete the following form to apply for a Literacy Leadership - Digital Literacy AmeriCorps VISTA project with Literacy Minnesota. AmeriCorps VISTA projects typically renew for 3-5 years through a non-competitive continuation application. 


If selected, your first year of hosting an AmeriCorps VISTA would be in our 2021-2022 program year, with members starting their one year term of service in January 2022 (approximately January 18, 2022-January 17, 2023).


Applications are due by October 1, 2021, 11:59pm. Applicants will be notified of selection decisions and next steps in early October 2021.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST

Organizations are generally awarded one AmeriCorps VISTA member each year per project, which is typically renewable for a total of 3-5 years. If your organization would like to request more than one AmeriCorps VISTA member in 2022 for the project discussed in this proposal, please use the narrative sections to make the case for why this is necessary. If your organization would like to apply for more than one distinct AmeriCorps VISTA project, please complete a separate application for each project.

GOALS
SCALE/REACH = As a result of this project, we will be able to SERVE MORE people or a NEW GROUP of people. (Adding new digital literacy services or expanding existing digital literacy services in order to serve more individuals)

EFFECTIVENESS = As a result of this project, we will be able to provide a HIGHER QUALITY of digital literacy services, particularly for individuals living in poverty. (Enhancing existing programming)

Please describe the population that will be served by your proposed project. Include information on poverty in this population and the particular digital literacy needs of this group; any other relevant demographics (age range, languages, cultures, geographical area served); and current statistical data (citing sources whenever possible) to substantiate the needs of the population who will be served through this project.

Supervisor Training Workshops
Please save the dates for the Supervisor Training Workshops (webinars) for 2022. Individuals who will directly supervise your AmeriCorps VISTA member are required to attend all parts. Additional staff who will play a significant role in supervision, member recruitment and/or project oversight are encouraged to also attend any sessions relevant to their role.

If your project is invited to continue to the next stage of supervisor training and workplan development, you will receive an email notification in early October with the supervisor training registration link and next steps.
