Fair redistricting is critical to ensuring fair political representation and power for our communities-- and it's up to us to make sure our voices are heard. In 2021, NYIC is bringing the powerful grassroots coalition and the successful tactics of our NY Counts census work to the next stage of the fight, New York's redistricting process.
The goal of Mapping Our Future, the NYIC's redistricting campaign, is to protect and strengthen political representation and power for immigrants and people of color. To do that, we need to elevate the voices of those most impacted, as we educate and mobilize our communities to demand fair districts. We'll be ramping up our campaign in the coming months, with activities that include community educational events, grassroots mobilizations, engaging elected officials, and media amplification.
