1. Completion Grant recipients must be eligible for the
Tennessee Promise Scholarship Program and/or attended high school in one of the following counties: Benton, Claiborne, Decatur, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Lawrence, Lewis, Perry, Union, Unicoi, or Wayne.
2. Program Participants may receive up to One Thousand
Dollars ($1,000.00) each semester for up to five (5) semesters at community
colleges or universities, or Six Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars ($625.00) each
trimester for up to eight (8) trimesters at the Tennessee Colleges of Applied
Technology (TCAT).
3. Completion Grant requests must fall into one of five (5) categories of
financial hardship:
o Food-
Program Participants may receive up to Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) per
request via grocery card. Ayers will determine the merchant or provider for
each grocery card.
o Housing-
Program Participants may receive up to the maximum amount each term. Ayers
will pay housing providers directly.
o Transportation-
Program Participants may receive Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per request via
gas card. Ayers will determine the merchant or provider for each gas card.
o Books/Supplies-
Program Participants may receive up to the maximum amount each term. Ayers will pay the bookstore, merchant, or
provider directly. Students must submit a list of books/tools/supplies and their prices.
o Class-Specific
Fees- Program Participants may receive up to the maximum amount each term. Ayers will pay the higher education
institution directly.
4. Program Participants must submit a Completion Grant
application with a brief description and documentation supporting the request.
Ayers will work with each recipient before and after funds have been dispersed. Students may be asked to submit a copy of their class schedule.
5. All grants are approved by the Ayers Foundation Director of
Postsecondary Success.
