Storm Damage Loans - General Information
Storm Damage Loans provide up to $12,000 to cover expenses related to damage resulting from Hurricane Ida, including repairs and renovations, extensive cleanup and mold remediation, replacement of personal belongings and household essentials, and temporary relocation.

Before applying for an HFLS Storm Damage Loan, you should first determine whether you are eligible for individual assistance through FEMA and how much assistance you are eligible to receive. Not applying for FEMA aid or applying for FEMA aid after receiving an HFLS loan could result in a loss of free financial support that you would not have to pay back.

Learn more about and apply for FEMA individual assistance by clicking here or calling 1-800-621-FEMA (1-800-621-3362).

Please visit the HFLS Storm Damage Loans webpage for information about eligibility, guarantor requirements, loan terms and repayments, required documents, and more.

If you have any questions about HFLS loans or if you have technical problems while completing this form, please email Loan@HFLS.org or leave a voicemail at (212) 687-0188 x2 and a Loan Officer will respond as soon as possible.

  • Is currently employed with annual pre-tax household income of at least $30,000

They may instead opt to download and print a PDF of the Guarantor Form and submit it to HFLS via email, fax, or regular mail; a link to the PDF will be included in the email they receive. If you have not already done so, please alert your guarantors to look out for this email.

Credit Report Authorization
HFLS may review applicants' credit reports in order to confirm their ability to repay a loan, or for some loan programs, to confirm their eligibility for a loan. For loans that require guarantors, HFLS always reviews guarantors' credit reports to determine whether they are able to guarantee a loan.

By checking the box below, you authorize HFLS to obtain your credit report if necessary. If you ask, we will tell you if a credit report has been obtained and the name and address of the agency furnishing the report. You also authorize anyone named in this application or any credit report we obtain regarding you to verify any information provided in this application or on the credit report.
