Join SVP Seattle as we reimagine our grantmaking process through the Fall 2021 New Grant Committee (NGC)!

We are proud that SVP Seattle grantmaking programs have shifted millions of dollars into non-profit organizations in King County. However, through our Reimainging process we learned that we need to evolve how we solicit, determine, and allocate grants. We acknowledge that we needed to change our grantmaking to recognize power dynamics in grantmaking based in race and class, honor applicants time and expertise, and create an NGC where all Partners, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, can fully participate. We are also expanding the subject matter focus of our grants in the NGC to focus on organizations making systemic change through interdisciplinary programs and organizing.

This fall, we are excited to announce our Reimagined NGC. This NGC will incorporate feedback from the Grantmaking Co-Creation Cohort that met over the summer. (Interested in co-creation? Join our Co-Creation Cohort!)

The Fall 2021 NGC will specially look at the way we invite organizations to apply for a grant through the grantmaking application process. Working together, Partners will determine a new process for selecting a new non-profit Partner organization (formerly known as Investee) and then use the process to identify and welcome a new Partner organization.

The NGC cohort will meet weekly from 10:00AM to 11:00AM for 2 months starting on October 20. Priority will be given to applicants who can participate in all or the majority of the NGC meetings. We are offering $750 dollars stipends to eligible Partners. Please let us know if you would like to receive the stipend.
