I understand that as a volunteer for Puppies Behind Bars, I am not spending time with a pet but with a very special dog that will make a huge difference in someone’s life. As such, I need to abide by certain rules that pertain to puppies being raised as working dogs.
These include, but are not limited to, never allowing the puppy to be off-lead outside, never giving the puppy any human food, and never putting the puppy in a situation which could cause it harm. If the puppy needs medical attention while it is with me, I agree to take it to a vet and to notify PBB immediately what I have done, or am about to do (PBB will reimburse all medical expenses).
I also agree to write a brief report of my time with the puppy so that PBB and the puppy’s incarcerated raiser can work on specific things with which the pup may need help. I understand that as a volunteer I will be required to take pictures of the puppies I host on socialization outings and send these to PBB. I understand that these photos are the property of PBB and will be used for fundraising and educational purposes.

Please note that we also take into consideration the skills you demonstrate during the puppy training sessions, and that the completed application alone does not guarantee acceptance.
