Navy Yard Event Application

EVENTS AT THE NAVY YARD

This application is for organizers of special events: public and private events, races, festivals, programs, activities, and performances. Any gathering requiring a reserved space with tents, sound systems, staging, road closures, and/or any type of equipment is considered to be a special event. Arrangements for your event should not be made until you have received approval from PIDC and conducted your initial meeting with the PIDC team.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

  • All event applications must be submitted through the PIDC’s Navy Yard office at least 90 days prior to the event. Only completed applications submitted will be reviewed. Submitting an application does not grant the applicant permission to hold the event.

  • Once a completed application is received, PIDC will contact the applicant within approximately 15 days to request more information for an extended review, conditionally approve the application, or deny the application.

FEE SCHEDULE
Fee Schedule

Site Fee Payment Schedule (Fees associated with site reservation):

    • Refundable Security Deposit is due 10 days after event approval to hold date.
    • Full license fee is due at the signing of the license agreement.

 

Additional Fees (Fees in addition to the site reservation fees)

    • Attendance fee
      • If the actual attendance is greater than estimated stated in the application, PIDC has the right to adjust the Daily Site Fee, and event organizer agrees to pay such increase within seven (7) days of PIDC’s request.
    • Street closure fee
      • Any event requiring the closure of any streets for a race, walk, etc. will incur fees for street closures and road barricades (Costs typically range from $1,600-2,000)

    • Alcohol fee
      • Any event providing or having the sale of alcohol will incur an additional $1,000 Daily Site Fee surcharge and be subject to additional insurance requirements, including but not limited to host liquor liability or liquor law liability in amount to be determined by PIDC’s risk management team.

Set up/breakdown fees

    •  Applicant will be charged the following set up or break down fees associated with production of the event: 
      • Weekday set up after 3:00 PM: no additional daily site fee. 
      • Weekday set up prior to 3:00 PM: 25% of the quoted daily site fee.
      • Exclusive weekend set up: 50% of the quoted daily site fee. 
      • Breakdown must be completed prior to 3:00 PM on day of event or may be subject to 50% charge of the quoted daily site fee. 

Rain date fees

    • Rain dates can be requested and approved based on availability. An additional Daily Site Fee of up to 50% will be charged when booking a rain date. Site fees will not be refunded if a rain date is not used

Non-profit rates

    • Non-profit organizations with verified 501(c)(3) status will receive a 25% reduced Daily Site Fee.

Miscellaneous

    • Event organizers are responsible for but not limited to portable restrooms, dumpsters, trash receptacles, generators, tent/table/chair rentals, audio visual, additional security, etc.

Central Green
About: Central Green is ideal for events, 
Central Green Image
performances, athletic events, and small festivals for 
audiences that range in size up to approximately 500 people. 
Location: Central Green is located at Rouse 
Boulevard & Intrepid Avenue.
Size: 5 acres
Electricity: 110v at base of sunlawn; 220v at north 
end of 12th Street for food trucks
Staking/tents: tents must be weighted down, staking 
is prohibited. Tents cannot remain overnight.
Furniture: bistro tables and chairs, large wooden 
conference table, chaise lounges, and Adirondack 
chairs throughout.
Additional amenities: Hammock grove and 1/5 mile running track. Bocce courts, table tennis, and restroom 
facility usage available upon request and may be subject to additional fees.

Crescent Park
About: Crescent Park is ideal for events, Crescent Park Image
performances, meetups, and small festivals for 
audiences that range in size from several hundred to 
up approximately 1,500 people. 
Location: Crescent Park is located at Broad Street & 
Crescent Drive.
Size: 2.5 acres 
Electricity: limited 110v in center of park
Staking/tents: tents must be weighted down, staking 
is prohibited. 
Furniture: park benches

League Island Park
About: League Island Park is ideal for events, League Island Park Image
performances, meetups, and small festivals for 
audiences that range in size  
up approximately 1,000 people. 
Location: League Island Park is located at 12th Street 
& Constitution Avenue.
Size: 3.5 acres 
Electricity: n/a
Staking/tents: tents must be weighted down, staking 
is prohibited. 
Furniture: park benches, bistro tables and chairs.
Additional amenities: n/a

Marine Parade Grounds
About: the Marine Parade Grounds is ideal for events, Marine Parade Grounds Image
performances, athletic events, and large festivals for 
audiences that range in size from several hundred to 
over 5,000 people.  Please note, this is the only park used for our certified 5k route.
Location: the Marine Parade Grounds are located at 
Broad Street & Intrepid Avenue.
Size: 8 acres

staked.

Field 624
Located a block from the waterfront, Field 624 is a 2.5-acre space ideal for semi-permanent structures
and stationary events including: performances, athletic events, and large festivals for audiences that
range in size from several hundred to approximately 5,000 people.

Mustin Fairgrounds
About: the Mustin Fairgrounds offer scenic views of the Delaware River. It is ideal for semi-permanent structures and stationary events including: performances, athletic events, and large festivals for audiences that range in size from several hundred to approximately 5,000 people. 
Size: approximately 5.5 acres, 910’ by 277’
Electricity: n/a
Staking/tents: Tents may be weighted down or staked. 
Furniture: n/a 
Other features: Scenic views of the Delaware River. 

5k Walks/Runs
All accepted 5k walks/runs are required to use the Navy Yard certified 5k route. The only park associated with this route is the Marine Parade Grounds.
