About

The Kuzak Family Foundation is a scholarship for high school graduates from the Next Level Scholars program who will be enrolled at the University of Detroit Mercy. The scholarship will be awarded annually to students enrolled in one of the 4-year undergraduate programs offered by UDM. Scholarship awards are varied by student need, with an anticipated maximum award of $12,500 per year, up to 4 years and will be applied to the students cost of attendance as a last dollar scholarship.

Scholarship Eligibility and Criteria

In order to be eligible, a student must:

Have participated in Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars Next Level Scholars their sophomore, junior and senior years of high school.
Have earned at minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
Are planning to enroll at the University of Detroit Mercy after high school graduation.
Fully complete any required scholarship application materials.

The Kuzak Family Scholarship is for students that have been accepted to and plan to attend the University of Detroit Mercy. If you have not been accepted to UDM, you are not eligible for the scholarship.

Please note: If you are not awarded the Kuzak Family Scholarship, you will still receive the $4,000 Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars Scholarship, pending eligibility requirements met. If you are awarded the Kuzak Family Scholarship, you will not receive the DRDFS scholarship.

Applicant Recommendation

Your recommender should not be a family member or a friend. Enter a trusted adult, teacher, counselor, etc. Please note that this cannot be a family member. If you submit a family member as your recommender, we will ask you to re-do your application.

Upon submission of your application, the recommender you enter will be sent an email with a link to complete their recommendation. If your recommender does not submit their recommendation by the application deadline, you will not be considered for the scholarship.

Should I be awarded the Kuzak Family Foundation Scholarship:

I understand that my scholarship award will be sent directly to me, and I acknowledge that I am responsible for taking the check to my schools financial aid office.

I agree to permit Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars to confer with my post-secondary institution to verify my enrollment during the term of my award(s).

I understand that I am eligible for a maximum of $12,500 per year, and subject to change pending my financial aid package and approval from Dollars for Scholars.

I understand that I must claim my scholarship funds in consecutive years, and will not take time off between semesters.

I agree to be involved with Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars as an alumni and to stay in touch with the donor as requested.

I will work to maintain or improve upon a G.P.A of a 3.0 during post-secondary.
