Fall 2021 BULB Program Application

Thank you for your interest in the University City Science Center's Building an Understanding of Lab Basics (BULB) workforce program built in partnership with eCLOSE Institute! Aditionally, financial literacy training will be provided by Citizen's Bank and concepts & principles of cell and gene therapy will be instructed by Harrisburg University. This is no-cost, adult training program that focuses on building Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)  industry skills and advancing at work. 

In partnership with eCLOSE Institute, participants will receive basic laboratory environment skills that can be applied to multiple roles in the STEM industry. Graduates of the program will receive:
  • A laptop
  • A stipend
  • Lab materials and supplies
  • A STEM mentor
  • Access to online learning modules beyond program completion
  • Certificate of completion from Harrisburg University
This application can take 45-minutes or more to complete, first answer the five questions below to determine if you are eligible to fill out the application. To qualify, you would need to answer "yes" to all five questions.

Science Experience and Basic Equipment for Work from Home

In this section we will ask you about your overall science experience. Information provided will not diminish your chances of being selected. Even if you are not a "science person," our training is designed for all experience levels. Additionally, training will include a full testing science kit that requires specific devices and appliances for the most ideal outcomes. We would like to set all applicants up for success during the entire program.
