Shabbat at the itrek Accelerator Weekend

Please note that not all sessions during the itrek Accelerator Weekend will be strictly observant of Shabbat. Sessions on Saturday may include limited technological support with microphones or monitors; however, the personal use of technology won't be required for any aspect of programming during this time, and we will do our best to maintain a Shabbat-observant atmosphere for Friday evening. If Shabbat observance is relevant to your participation, we encourage you to reach out to your Program Manager or itrek Point of Contact for more details and accommodations.

Meal Preferences

All meal functions will be “Kosher style”. Kosher style meals do not include forbidden animals, such as pork and shellfish, and do not contain both meat and milk/dairy products at the same dish or meal. In order to accommodate strictly Certified Kosher meals, itrek hires a caterer that must be given advance notice about guest preferences. Strictly Certified Kosher meals will not be available unless noted below. Please indicate if your dietary preferences require additional restrictions.

Please Note: You must select either Kosher style or Strictly Certified Kosher meals in advance, and may not switch between buffets during the weekend. This policy ensures proper preparation and respect for dietary guidelines.

Accommodations

itrek will book and cover the cost of your hotel accommodations. This year’s location will be in Columbia, Maryland. You will share a room with a roommate of the same gender. We cannot guarantee you will receive your first choice of roommate but we’ll definitely try to make it happen. The hotel requires every guest to present a credit card upon check-in to pay for any incidentals incurred during your stay, so please remember to bring a card along.

This year’s amazing location is the Merriweather Lakehouse Hotel in Columbia, Maryland. itrek will reserve your hotel accommodations in order to receive the discounted group rate! You will be financially responsible for the accommodations at $212 plus tax per night for a single room and $222 plus tax per night for a double room. Please submit your check in and check out dates below so we can confirm your accommodations on your behalf. Please be prepared to present a credit card at check in to cover the costs associated with your hotel stay.

Travel

itrek will provide your transportation to Maryland and will organize your ground transportation to/from the Merriweather Lakehouse Hotel. Our partnering travel agency will book your travel based on the information you provide below. (Don’t worry - you will get a chance to review and confirm the reservation details). All travel must be booked through our partnering travel agency, who will offer you pre-selected flights so itrek staff members arrive together. Please note: You may use your divvy for other necessary travel arrangements, such as getting from your hotel to the airport.

itrek will provide your transportation to Maryland, as well as ground transportation to/from the hotel. You are responsible for getting to and from your home airport or train station. Our partnering travel agency will book your travel based on the information you provide below. Don’t worry — you’ll have the opportunity to review and confirm your reservation details before anything is finalized. Please note: All travel must be booked through our partnering travel agency. If you book your travel independently, you will not be reimbursed.

The itrek Accelerator Weekend starts on Friday, November 6th at 3:00pm and finishes on Sunday, November 8th at 12:00pm. Attending the full weekend, from start to finish, is strongly encouraged, as the full experience will help all attendees with insight needed for a successful Israel Trek.
