The Key to Change is dedicated to providing monetary assistance to students who have expressed a need due to their family’s financial situation. Financial assistance that is given to students is funded through generous support from our donors, board and community supporters. All students who are seek financial assistance must agree to the terms and conditions of the scholarship agreement. All applicants will be notified via email of the amount of tuition assistance they will receive. Financial assistance will be provided based on financial need and student/parent or guardian commitment and involvement in the Key to Change organization. Once financial assistance is determined, the student and family are expected to follow the guidelines outlined in the policy and resolve the reduced tuition on a timely manner, unless communicating with the executive director if an extension is needed.
This Application requires certain documentation, such as a tax return, bank statements, or paystubs. If the Family requires assistance completing the application or is unable to submit the necessary documentation, then please contact the Studio directly. The Application must be completed before the Family’s Tuition Statement will be updated with the awarded Financial Aid.Expectations of financial aid recipients: - Abide by the Attendance Policy
- Attend Conferences with Teaching Staff
- Complete weekly assignments, as assigned by Teaching Staff
- Demonstrate minimum 2.5 GPA
- Enroll for Lessons in fall, winter, spring, and summer
- Exemplify positive, friendly behavior
- Maintain a practice schedule, as outlined in the Syllabus
- Participate in each term’s Recital / Festival
- Pay Tuition by the term’s required date
Recipients in danger of losing their scholarships due to the following: - Consistent lack of preparedness in personal practice
- Excessive tardiness or absences
- Failure to pay Tuition by the term’s required date
- Poor, disruptive behavior
- Lack of participation in Recitals, Events, or Studio performances
- Lack of communication and cooperation
- Less than a 2.5 minimum GPA
The Student will receive a verbal warning if their actions do not adhere to the expectations above. If that continues, then they will receive a written warning, and eventually their Scholarship or Aid will be revoked.
