The Reelworld Black Entrepreneurs Program provides business advisory services, workshops, mentorships, and capital investment and networking opportunities to Black individuals interested in launching or advancing a career as casting directors, agents, managers, and producers in the film and television industry.


Beginning March 2022, 11 Black casting directors, agents and managers will participate in a series of workshops focused on setting up a company and creating a business plan with training in the key areas of accounting, human resources, and marketing and sales. A second group of 5 mid-level producers, with their own production companies and have produced at least one feature film, will participate in a series of workshops focused on business management, negotiation, cash flow management, legal and accounting support. The streams of the program will run concurrently and include a 3 month paid internship.

Applications will close February 28th, 2022, at 11:59pm. 

Successful applicants will be notified shortly thereafter. This year, the program is only accepting Ontario-based applicants. 

The program will start in March, 2022 and continue through to December, 2022. Applicants will need to be prepared to commit 1-2 evenings a week. Please also be prepared for possible travel or attendance at digital events.
