, The Mississauga Food Bank is running a free income tax filing clinic for those who need help filing their income tax return. You may be eligible for help at our free tax clinic if you have a
modest income
:
Single with income below $35,000*
Single Parent with one child and income below $45,000* (increase limit by $2,500 for each additional dependent)
Married/Common Law Couple with joined income below $45,000* (increase limit by $2,500 for each dependent)
*Income from COVID-19 related government supports are not included in the income threshold amount for 2021.
Your tax situation should also be
simple
. If you are not sure if your tax situation is simple, please use the checklist below to see if any of the following applies to you.
Are self-employed or have employment expenses
Have business or rental income and expenses
Have capital gains or losses
Have filed for bankruptcy
Are completing a tax return for a person who is deceased
