Thank you for your interest in joining Home Builders Foundation’s Board of Directors (BOD). HBF’s BOD is a critical part of our success in achieving our mission of building independence, providing opportunities, and elevating lives for people with disabilities in our community. Please review the responsibilities and answer the questions below to begin the application process for our BOD. Once completed, you will hear from a member of our Nominating Committee to set up a time from an introductory discussion.

Active Board Membership Involment

All HBF board members are expected to regularly attend and engage in board meetings. What experience do you have serving on nonprofits boards?

Committee Involment

All HBF board members are expected to serve on a committee or provide ad hoc support in service to HBF’s mission. Current committees include, but are not limited to:

Project Fulfillment (Project review, approval; PC recruitment and retention; in-kind material donations; individual volunteers/ advocates; etc.) Nominating/ Development (Recruitment, retention and development of BOD members and officers)Finance (Oversee everything finance from day to day to strategy)Marketing (Works with staff to support marketing efforts of HBF)Development (Works with staff to support donor cultivation)Other committees TBD

Fundraising

All board members and staff are expected to support the HBF through fundraising efforts. To date, how have you supported HBF’s fundraising efforts? Check all that apply, and add any explanation.

Made a personal monetary investment towards the sustainability of HBF. This investment has been commensurate with my connection to the HBF, and capacity to give philanthropically. Committed my company to sponsor/host an HBF fundraising event and/or select HBF as a third-party beneficiary to one of our events.
