The mission of Chicas in
College is to create a community of holistic support for women and non-binary
Latinx students currently enrolled in college. Through regular gatherings
(virtual and in-person), tailored presentations to meet the needs of the group,
peer support, and financial aid opportunities, we hope to ensure every student
has the resources they need to successfully complete their college education.
Chicas in College will meet once a month from
October-June (virtual or in person, as it is safe to do so), and each meeting
will consist of the following:
- Create a safe, affirming, and welcoming space for Latinxs in college,
- Engage in culturally-specific activities that promote
bonding, bilingualism, and solidarity among group participants.
There will also be opportunities to take on leadership roles through the
organizing of meetings and peer-mentoring of incoming freshmen students.

La misión de Chicas en el Colegio es crear una comunidad de apoyo holístico
para mujeres y no-binario estudiantes Latinx que asisten al colegio. A través
de reuniones regulares (virtuales y en persona), presentaciones adaptadas a las
necesidades del grupo, mentoría entre participantes, y oportunidades de
ayuda financiera, esperamos asegurarnos de que cada estudiante tenga los
recursos que necesita para completar con éxito su educación universitaria.
Chicas en el Colegio se reunirá cada mes de Octubre-Junio (virtual o en
persona, ya que es seguro hacerlo), y cada reunión consistirá en lo siguiente:
- Crear un espacio seguro y afirmativo para Latinxs en el colegio,
- Participación en actividades culturalmente específicas que promueven la
comunidad, el bilingüismo y la solidaridad entre participantes del grupo.
También habrá oportunidades para asumir roles de liderazgo a través de la
organización de reuniones y la mentoría de los estudiantes de primer año en el
colegio.
